Putting an end to Privatisation

NSW Labor To Protect State Assets

After a decade in power, this Liberal National Government has privatised $93.6 billion worth of public assets. This is despite former Premier Gladys Berejiklian declaring no more privatisation at the last election.

This government’s relentless need to privatise everything means higher costs for people across New South Wales, and it must end.

In July this year at the ACCC annual regulatory conference, Chair Rod Sims said “Privatising assets without allowing for competition or regulation creates private monopolies that raise prices, reduce efficiency and harm the economy”.

Privatisation in this state has gone too far. The Government has continued their relentless privatisation agenda with little public scrutiny.

AN END TO PRIVATISATION

We will end privatisation. And we’ll change the law to stop privatisation in the future.

This legislation will protect Sydney Water, Hunter Water, Water NSW, Endeavor Energy, Ausgrid, Essential Energy, the Sydney Harbour Crossings, iCare, Forestry Corp, Landcom and the NSW Port Authority – all of which the Government has refused to rule out selling off.

Only NSW Labor will protect your public assets and end privatisation.
